KEVIN WILLMOTT
Writer/filmmaker
Kevin Willmott is a native of Junction City, Kansas and a
graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, holding
an M.F.A. in Drmatic Writing. Willmott is an Associate
Professor in the Film and Media Studies Department of the University
of Kansas.
Wilmott’s latest feature film, THE ONLY GOOD INDIAN, appeared in
the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and is currently playing on Starz
and available on DVD as well as via Netflix.
Willmott’s film, C.S.A - THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF
AMERICA is about America had the South won the Civil War. It
was selected to for the 2004 Sundance Film festival and was
distributed by IFC Films. The film was also presented by Spike Lee
presentation and was released theatrical release in February 2006.
The award winning THE BATTLE FOR BUNKER HILL starring James McDaniel
(Detroit 187), Laura Kirk (Lisa Picard is Famous) and Saeed Jaffrey
(The Man who would be King) and written with Greg Hurd is screening
in film festivals.
GREG HURD
Producer and Writer
A film, television and digital producer and writer, Greg Hurd is
a producer of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival hit The Only Good
Indian starring Wes Studi.
Hurd is a member of the board of the Kansas Film Commission
Hurd grew up in greater Kansas City and attended the University of
Kansas receiving his BA in English literature. He attended
Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California receiving his
Master of Divinity in 1993.
Hurd is also the co-writer and producer of director Kevin
Willmott’s new feature film The Battle for Bunker Hill. Hurd also
teamed with Willmott to write A Love Supreme, an interracial love
story set in contemporary Kansas City before the looming specter of
war. Also in television, Hurd is an AP Managing Editors,
Telly, Midi and Mature Media award-winning producer, writer and
host, with more than 1,200 talk shows, documentaries and specials to
his credit.
